Affectionately known as ‘Sean’s’ since opening in 1993, our little ‘salty jewel’ of a restaurant serves comforting home–style food balanced with modern tastes.
Our constantly changing handwritten blackboards usually offer a choice of four entrees, mains and desserts and cheeses or a more spontaneous five course ‘chef’s choice’ degustation of dishes, tailored to suit, in the hands of chefs Sam Robertson, John Hicks and Marie Zarro.
Sean’s’ team is currently serving a three course menu with a choice of two dishes in each course for $100 per person. This includes an appetiser and our house baked breads.
The menu changes each day, responsive to what is available from our farm harvests in Bilpin, the freshest seafood, poultry and livestock from ethical farmers. Please let us know any dietary requirements at the time of booking, so we can prepare special alternatives.
We are a small 45 seat dining room and guests are in the nurturing hands of our team Lorena, Sara and Cilla.
A handful of weather permitting outdoor tables and an intimate cocktail bar adjacent to the restaurant share our dazzling views of the ocean. The funky shape of the room lends endless options for private dining and is a popular venue for celebrations where I can create a menu exclusively for you.

Welcome to our home.
Surrounded by the breathtaking Wollomi and Blue Mountains National Parks this 50 acre farm in Bilpin is our hive of sporadic wholesome embellishments.
We host quirky homestays in the main house, cooking classes and bespoke events with flavour enhanced by seasonal harvests of fruit, vegetables, fresh herbs, rare breed livestock and the odd Murray cod for the patient angler.
It really is a piece of paradise we love to share.

‘High Hopes Roadhouse’ is a licensed wine-bar in the heart of Bilpin village, open every day from 8am till 4pm with dinner on weekends coming soon. This is Sean’s alter ego and with his partner Manoo at the helm, a sweet shop out back and classic roadhouse dishes, it’s totally family friendly and fun. Think local leg ham and cheese fried sandwiches, roasted pumpkin soup with fresh horseradish, cauliflower macaroni cheese with ‘Heidi‘ Raclette and ‘Willowbrae’ goat’s feta, Sean’s classic linguine with rocket, lemon, chilli and Parmesan, free- range chicken nuggets with homemade mayo, steak pan fried with a farm egg and local greens, beef chipolatas with peas and onion gravy, pork chops braised with prunes, roesti, leaf salad and a chocolate mousse cake or Ben’s apple pie.
For daytimes, there are no bookings and when dinners kick off some time in Spring it’s probably best to phone to check.
